Municipality and surroundings
Chýně is central bohemian urban area in immedate distance of Prague, surrounded by fields and a forest. It was founded on prehistoric settlement, in year 1273 written down as property of Strahov monastery. Next to older houses it has modern houses with nature elements. Litovice stream flows through this place, in municipality there are two fishponds – Bašta, with sand beach and swimming possibility, and Strahovský. One other, more distant pond down by the stream is called Břevský, good place for a trip.
More distant target (18 km) is Karlštejn castle, 20 km is Okoř castle also favourited by tourists.
